The town of San Vicente del Monte, in Valdáliga, will host a facility that will serve to host concentrations and modernization programs of the Cantabrian Cycling Federation and also in other sports and will involve an investment of more than 280,000 euros.

This was announced this Monday by the regional vice president and councilor for Universities, Equality, Culture and Sports, Pablo Zuloaga (PSOE), during a visit to the municipality.

As he explained, it is a project that is being drafted with the collaboration of the Valdáliga City Council and the Cantabrian Cycling Federation and that it will be located in the building that until two years ago had been used as a hostel.

During the visit made to Valdáliga, the vice-president has also transferred to the mayor of this municipality, Lorenzo Manuel González, the commitment of his department to undertake other sports projects that improve the quality of life of the residents, the regional executive.

Among these initiatives, Zuloaga has referred to the installation of a cover on the paddle tennis courts, guaranteeing their availability throughout the year.

In this sense, the vice president has highlighted the importance of promoting and promoting investments in rural areas, which allow residents to guarantee the same services as urban areas.

For his part, the mayor of Valdáliga thanked the Sports Council for its collaboration in carrying out important projects for the municipality, such as the recovery of the hostel building for sports use and the improvement of the paddle tennis courts.

Along with the Vice President and the Mayor, the General Director of Sport, Mario Iglesias, also participated in the visit; and the general director of Youth, Irene Lanuza.
